Kim Ferguson has specialized in the design and engineering of telecommunications cabling systems and their supporting infrastructures since 1991. Prior to this she worked as an electrical engineer at a national engineering company. From 1991 to 1995 Kim worked with a number of large, international consulting engineering firms as both a project engineer and a project manager. In 1995, Kim, along with her partner, founded Robert Derector Telecommunications.
Kim functions as the Managing Partner-in-Charge for a wide range of telecommunications projects. She combines her wealth of knowledge of construction and technology to provide cost effective designs to clients. Having a power background she brings a unique set of skills in planning MEP systems to support technology. Being detailed oriented she also oversees the quality control process.
Kim’s extensive experience includes oversight of the design and implementation of the telecommunications infrastructure for a 2.5 million square foot hotel and casino in Biloxi, MS. She also manages the engineering and installation of telecommunications cabling and systems for several 250,000 + square feet projects for Morgan Stanley. Kim oversees ongoing infrastructure projects for Lehman Brothers, at various locations throughout the US and India. She is currently managing the infrastructure and fit-out design for the renovation of a 470,000 square foot building in New York City.
Kim is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering (BSEE). She is a member of Pi Beta Phi, National Association of Female Executives (NAFE), Association of Real Estate Women (AREW) and Professional Women in Construction (PWC).
